An Aspen Pharmacare, Port Elizabeth initiative.
In Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the Aspen Pharmacare team has actively supported the 16 Days of Activism for “No Violence Against Women and Children” initiative since 2016. This national campaign runs from 25 November to 10 December each year and is co-ordinated at Aspen’s flagship manufacturing site by the Aspen PE Women’s Forum.
The 2018 theme, “Warrior Women, heartbeat of community – This is Me” was launched at the on 28 November with the support of African Drumbeat and the Aspen PE Choir. Long serving representatives of the Aspen community were entertained by the choir and invited to beat to the rhythm of the drum in unity and harmony as warriors in support of this worthy campaign.
On 5 December 2018, the campaign continued with the choir leading approximately two hundred employees from all business units across the PE campus in an on-site march to demonstrate their support for “No violence against women and children”.
